大学時代の陶芸サークルで陶芸に魅了された鈴木は、卒業後に韓国で修行を積み2009年に信楽で独立。2016年には工房を移転し、現在は伊賀にて作陶に励んでいる。 細かな陶印を使った三島の伝統的な美しさを保ちながらも、伝統的な器の形に囚われず、新たな形で三島を表現する。また鈴木が長年手掛ける粉引は使い重ねることによって変化する色をいかに美しくするかに重点を置きながら使い手に寄り添って作られている。最近では自身でつくった薪窯によって三島や粉引では表現できない大胆な作品を伊賀焼、信楽焼で表現し作品の幅を更に広げている。 鈴木が一つ一つ信念を持って作るそれぞれの作品の魅力をぜひこの機会にお愉しみください。 Suzuki, who was fascinated by ceramics in a pottery club in college, trained in Korea after graduation and became independent in Shigaraki in 2009. In 2016, he relocated his studio and now working in Iga. While maintaining the traditional beauty of Mishima with detailed ceramic stamps, he expresses Mishima in a new way without being trapped in the traditional form of vessels. Suzuki's kohiki, which he has been working on for many years, is made with the user in mind, with an emphasis on how beautifully the colors change with repeated use. Recently, Suzuki has been expanding the range of his work by using a wood-fired kiln he built himself to create bold works in Iga and Shigaraki pottery that cannot be expressed in Mishima or Kohiki.
